The stay - which lasted one week - at this penthouse was very pleasant: it is very well located (~ 15 minutes to the center) but calm, one finds all equipment which is needed, it is clean, in a good shape and having breakfast on the terrace is also something very nice. The communication/organization with/by Andrea and his father was perfect: E-mails were answered within minutes, receiving and returning the keys took only a few minutes. During the stay, one always had the opportunity to call him (which was not needed). If I ever go back to Rome, I would definetyl try to rent this apartment again - thanks a lot, Andrea, for everything - we had a wonderful stay!

We loved this place ! if you are looking for a nice spacious apartment not far from the city center - Penthouse Apartment in Central Rome is exactly what you need. We couldn't have asked for a better location than this on our trip. It is 2-minute walking distance to the tram stop which brings you right to the downtown. The apartment is spacious and very well decorated. Everything you need is provided by Andrea. Andrea and his father are both extremely helpful hosts. The rooms are spacious with lots of storage space. The kitchen is well equiped and the sitting area provided for time-out and relaxation. The markets is a 10 minute walk from the apartment and there is spoilt for choice of ham, cheese, fresh fruit and vegetables! We all truly had a wonderful time, we would absolutely recommend this apartment to a couple or family.

We had an incredible time staying in this awesome, clean, well set up apartment! The most convenient location to excellent restaurants (a great deli is just walking distance from this place) and all of the amazing sights and scenes near the heart of Rome! There is a great outdoor patio setup on this floor and is very spacious for entertaining! The host was great and very friendly and we look forward to returning for future visits!!

*While in Italy, we recommend you bring an un-locked cellular phone so that you can purchase air time and data from an Italian based phone number. This will allow you easy access for communicating within Italy! Also remember to look for taxi stands.
You can't waive down a taxi they won't stop.

    Five out of five :)

This is a great little apartment in the wonderful, residential, authentic, quiet Roman neighborhood of Monteverde on a convenient tram line (line 8) to central Rome, which is about 15-20 min away. Easy shopping and restaurants are close-by. The apartment is a good size, good layout for two people to stay in and had good amenities. We liked the neighborhood, the view and the terrace, the kitchen and washing machine, the cable TV and WiFi. The host was very accomodating and pleasant and spoke very good English. We arrived quite late and he was very accomodating. They helped us with the luggage up and down the stairs, upon arrival and departure - unfortunately there is no elevator and the apartment is up 5 flights of stairs, so beware if you don't like climbing stairs... :) My only minor complaint would be about the shower which is very small, and was hard to get a good shower in, but this is very subjective perhaps since I like to have good showers. In the interest of writing a balanced review I must say I also found the bedsheets and bathroom towels a bit old and over-washed, which is a little annoying, the owners should pay attention to these things and change them more frequently to new ones. But overall we really liked the apartment and enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend it.

    Response to Michael Philips:

    Dear Michael,

It has been our great pleasure to welcome you at Penthouse Monteverde and thank you for sharing your feelings about your stay with us.

We are sorry regarding the bedsheets and bathroom towels matter. We change the bedsheets and towels every 3-4 months. The last change over was last August. However, we have instructed our cleaner to rectify the problem immediately. Rest assured that we will pay extereme attention to this issue for the comfort of our future guests.

Likewise, we are pleased to read that you appreciated very much your stay at Penthouse Monteverde.

We sincerely hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you again soon.

    Yours sincerely,

    Andrea

Penthouse Monteverde provided us with the perfect base for exploring Rome. There was easy access to buses and trams to reach the centre plus restaurants and shops within walking distance although the supermarket was best accessed via one stop on the tram. The apartment was spotlessly clean with everything you could wish for a holiday break. Every effort had been made to make guests welcome and comfortable. The kitchen was somewhat basic but as I don't cook on holiday it was not a problem. The 110 stairs were rather daunting but worth the effort. For us a negative was the close proximity of the hospital and the resultant sirens. Coming from a small village in Cyprus we found it intrusive, others probably wouldn't even notice them.
However, from the very beginning of the booking process until our early morning departure, Andrea was absolutely brilliant! His father gave us a very warm welcome. Throughout our stay we felt confident that should we have a problem, which we didn't, then andrea was just a phone call away. Thank you again, Andrea, for the birthday bubbly, a wonderful and totally unexpected present. We will certainly return to Penthouse Monteverde should we revisit Rome!

We were a little apprehensive about renting this penthouse because of the non-availability of a lift. My mother has bad knees and we had a 3 year old with us. It wasn't hard to get up there at all! Once we got there we were greeted by andrea's father, a very kind helpful man. He showed us the ins and outs of the penthouse and was even able to book a taxi for us for the day we left. There were 5 of us and there was plenty room for us and our luggage. We spent many nights on the veranda drinking some local wines purchased at nearby stores. Getting to the center of Rome was very easy. We ended up taking the tram everyday. Overall, we would stay there again and would recommend this place to any of our friends. Thank you!
