21 April 2012Firstly we had a brilliant time in Rome and at andreas appartment, we will definately be visiting again and highly recommend others to do the same. Upon arrival we were greeted by andreas dad who kindly helped us up the stairs to the appartment. He was extremely welcoming and got us settled quickly. The appartment was very spacey for me and my gf, spotlessly clean with excellent facilities and had a homely feel. Dont let the fifth floor location put you off, the view is brilliant and the terrace is good for relaxing on. The appartments location in Rome is excellent with good transport links via tram or bus. We were in the centre of Rome in ten mins using the tram. Il Colosseo was only a further ten minutes walk from argentina tram stop. Thanks for your hospitality, we will be back soon.

18 February 2012My husband and I went for a trip in Rome (first time) for 3 days on second part of february 2012. I found andrea's offer on ownersdirect site and decided to go for it because the price offer was verry good and beacause of nice rewiews we find on the internet. February 2012The apartment was a penthouse. As there was no lift, it meant a steep climb up each time we got in. Hence, it is good for fit and mobile travellers but not for those who struggle with fitness or who have to lug a wheelchair or pram everywhere.
The owners are very obliging with helping out with luggage. We arrived at 6am, fatigued and shocked by the multiple stairs to trudge up. The owners physically helped us with taking our suitcases up those steps. Very much appreciated. They were also helpful with booking taxis for us to and from the airport. That freed us from the angst of trying to communicate in Italian on the phone.
There is a daily fresh market close by that sells fresh bread, pastries, cheeses, vegetables, meat, seafood, etc. The #8 tram to the city is within very easy access. There is a little cafe that has yummy pastries.
We stayed there for two separate periods: 17-21 Jan and 8-12 Feb 2012.
For its price, the location, the local provisons and the willing help of the owners, we would recommend this apartment for fit travellers. -

27 January 2012Penthouse apartment Monteverde is in a great spot for exploring Rome with tram and bus to central Rome at the end of the street. Owner is easy to liaise with and apartment is very clean. Lots of stairs but worth it for the view and owner assisted with bags on arrival and departure. Everything you need for self catering including wifi.

28 December 2011Our family of 5 have just returned from a 5 night stay in the Penthouse Monteverde. Could not have asked for a better place to stay. The apartment is just a few minutes walk from a short (maybe 10 minutes, tops) tram ride into the heart of the city. Plenty of restaurants, bakeries, shops, etc. in the immediate neighborhood--a nice respite from the crowds in the center after a long day of sightseeing with the kids. Lovely view from the rooftop terrace. The large, wonderful open air market is just a 10 minute walk up the street. And for fitness buffs, the Villa Doria Pamphilij is less than 2 kilometers away (and is right on the tram line), offering tons of scenic walking/running trails with lovely views out over the city. Andrea, the owner, and his father were extremely friendly and helpful. Could not have been better, and we would not hesitate to stay there again on a return visit. Thanks, Andrea!
